What textbook do you use for the lessons?
The textbooks we use vary due to diversity of our students and their purpose of study.
We choose the correct textbook for each student based on his/her age, individual
needs & learning ability.
Do you offer group lessons or private lessons?
We offer both.
When can I start my lessons?
Private lessons can be started as soon as possible. Please contact us for group classes.
Can tutors come to my home to give lessons?
Yes, however this increases the cost of classes due to time and mileage charges.
Do you teach Mandarin with a Chinese accent or Taiwanese accent?
We teach you Mandarin with the standard accent. This is the most useful
form of Chinese as it is spoken in Mainland China,Taiwan, Singapore & Malaysia.
Standard Mandarin is the type spoken by news broadcasters, meaning you
will be understood wherever you go.
What are your hours of operation?
Language classes are taught between 9 and 6 on weekdays and
10 to 2 on Saturdays although other arrangements can be made to accommodate classes.
Who typically takes classes at Mercan?
Mercan's students come from a variety of backgrounds. We have beginner level language
learners at every age and for every purpose. Some students come to brush up on Chinese
they studied in college. Others come in preparation for vacation to China. Our students are
an incredibly diverse group.
Where is your current class roster posted?
Because most of our classes are small groups, there is no official roster.

New students can email or call us to enroll in a demo class.
What type of products do you source for your clients?
We source any and all products.
What kind of businesses do you work with?
Most of our customers are small to large businesses based in Wisconsin, however;
we are open and willing to do business with any company.
What services do you provide?
We do initial market research, partner searches, sourcing searches, due diligence
research, interpretation, bargaining, culture guidance, market entry guidance,
comprehensive data and analysis reporting and follow-up.
What fees does Mercan Consulting charge?
Our fees are contingent upon your needs. In order to provide you with an accurate quote
please send us an email detailing what you would like to do in China or call our office
with that information. We will then create an outlines, meet with you to discuss your
specific needs and what we can do and then offer a quote based on the results of the
initial meeting.

How long is the contract?
Contracts are signed in increments of 1 year.
How often are teachers paid?
Every other week.
Can I apply before I graduate?
No. In order to process your visa if you are hired we need a copy of your diploma.
As a result, it is best to wait until you have graduated or are very near
graduating to apply.
When will I know if I was accepted?
You will be notified of your acceptance within 7 days of your interview.
How is airfare reimbursed?
Airfare will be reimbursed up to 8,000RMB at the end of your contract.
Will I live near the other American and Canadian teachers?
Yes. All our foreign teachers live in the same apartment building. |
